Literature Text

She was the summer air, and the winters contour
Stepping words
Spoke out of silhouettes slowly, beyond me, around me
Asking of the answers I didn’t have
Weaving me in and out of warmth,
”Believe me, you need me, you dream me…”

Hands, the first I’d ever embraced; misplaced
Lips, the first I’d ever kissed; poison-laced
To the sky, she carried me
Only to tell me “Turn around…”
To descend, on my own, seceding
Misleading, she kindly tells me
To rest my head, in this heaven or hell you’ve been feigning
So I posed a heart, as you did
and smiled all the while, nothing more than a “Yes.”

He’s so naive, retreating
From the hand that’s always feeding
Contraband, while all the while, she smiles
Pseudo Mother…where is your heart?
Where is your “Love?”

Woven right in, let your hands on their hips guide your desires
Inspire false pretenses and set hearts afire
And if he begins to inquire, just add more to the attire
An entire counterfeit empire, all for the matriarch of lust,
She who makes you walk the wire, ever since, every day

Leagues and legacies of lies, left behind
Along with those with gasket hearts who pray for casket hearts
The guilty and the clean
They’ll pray
.

Nice work.

I love the first stanza.

It's delicious.
